Portfolio - Residential Brownfield - Addis Site
The 15 acre site was purchased from Addis in December 2004. The site is part of the Tawe River Corridor Development area and was allocated for residential use in the emerging UDP following representations made by PMG.
The site was sold, subject to detailed planning consent to Barratt Homes South Wales Ltd in May 2005. PMG and Barratt secured detailed planning for 564 new homes in 2006. The scheme of riverside apartments, townhouses and a mix of traditional houses, together with a new river walkway linking the Morfa Stadium and retail park to the existing walkway and cycleway, generates considerable community benefits. The Addis site is well set to continue the successful regeneration of this area of Swansea following on from the new football and rugby stadium and associated retail park.
