Portfolio - Residential Brownfield - Ferry Road

The derelict 8 acre former railway sidings site was acquired from the British Rail Property Board in April 2004. Bovis Homes have subsequently purchased the site from PMG subject to planning. The two companies worked together to design a residential development which is sympathetic to the heavily treed site and allows for the run down areas to be upgraded. It is planned that 40% of the land with sufficient funds to develop it into a nature reserve will be given back to Cardiff County Council. Alongside the residential development this will totally transform the site from the current security and social problem that it is today. The planning application was successfully approved in late 2005 for about 170 new homes.
