After lengthy and productive Pre-Application meetings with Cardiff Council, PMG have submitted in partnership with McLaren Group two planning applications in respect of Fitzalan Court, Cardiff. The first planning application is for the change of use from Office to Residential Accommodation. The second application is for two additional stories in height to be added to the buildings along with the external treatment measures required. The application is for a total number of 355 student beds.
Unit 5 the first floor office suite at Thornhill Road has been let on a new lease to Craig Williams MP. This letting completes the tenant line up at this development.
The sale of this Brownfield site known as the former Bernard Hastie in Swansea has today completed to a National House-builder.
PMG and McLaren Property Group London have acquired the freehold of this 70,000 sq.ft. 1980's office complex in Cardiff.
A substantial portion of the complex has remained vacant for some years with the previous owners unable to attract tenants to this area.
It is therefore planned that a significant £30 Million redevelopment for high quality student accommodation will take place bringing new life and enhancement to this area of the City.
This site known as the Former Bernard Hastie site totalling 7.2 acres has been an extremely difficult site to unlock due to its many issues. These included - Historic Contamination, Access Issues, Archaeology, Local Historic Significance of Surrounding Area and Existing Buildings and has required continued persistence from PMG to finally achieve a successful outcome resulting today in the Reserved Matters Consent for 93 new residential units. Along with the new residential units, a complex deal was agreed with Swansea Council in order for the much needed new Morfa By-Pass to be constructed on part of the PMG site which has now also commenced. Redevelopment of this site will kick start Swansea Councils redevelopment plans for this area of the city.
