Planning permission has been granted for the creation of 35 all new and much needed affordable homes in Leckwith, Cardiff. This high quality scheme which has been worked up in Partnership with Taff Housing Association will provide a small but useful addition to the numbers of affordable properties being provided in Cardiff.
Planning permission was today granted at Planning Committee in Cardiff for the change of use to Student Accommodation and the addition of two extra floors at Fitzalan Court. The new scheme to be created here will provide high quality student accommodation with large communal areas providing common rooms, gym, café, study rooms and more. Construction for this £30M development will commence in March 2016 and will transform this highly prominent area of Newport Road, the Gateway to Cardiff City Centre. We have completed our purchase of the Carpetright Retail Warehouse on Newport Road in Cardiff. The building comprises 30,440 sq.ft. of accommodation on a prominent corner site of 0.812 acres. This is the primary retail warehouse location in Cardiff with nearby occupiers to include Homebase, M&S Simply Food, Matalan and Magnet.
After lengthy and productive Pre-Application meetings with Cardiff Council, PMG have submitted in partnership with McLaren Group two planning applications in respect of Fitzalan Court, Cardiff. The first planning application is for the change of use from Office to Residential Accommodation. The second application is for two additional stories in height to be added to the buildings along with the external treatment measures required. The application is for a total number of 355 student beds.
Unit 5 the first floor office suite at Thornhill Road has been let on a new lease to Craig Williams MP. This letting completes the tenant line up at this development.
