Current Projects - Waste To Energy

PMG have sold part of Trident Park to Viridor Waste Management Ltd. Both companies plan to work together to establish a state of the art regional waste management and resource recovery facility on the site. The proposed facility will be able to handle up to 350,000 tons of waste a year and will cost over £190m to construct. The heat will also provide enough energy to power over 30,000 houses locally.

Planning for the plant was granted in September 2010 which was closely followed by an E.A license which resulted in the scheme going unconditional. Viridor plans to start construction in mid 2012 with an anticipated build time of 3 years.
